Usage & Purchase T&Cs

By booking or using services at The Glo Co you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1) Age & Eligibility
• I confirm I am 18 or over and understand proof of age may be required.
• The Glo Co may refuse or stop a session if risk is identified or if information has been withheld.

2) Health & Medical Disclosure
I confirm I have answered truthfully and completely to the best of my knowledge regarding:
• My natural skin type / typical reaction to the sun.
• Any history of severe sunburn, especially in childhood.
• Any medical condition that worsens with sunlight or light therapy (e.g. lupus, photosensitive dermatitis, epilepsy triggered by light).
• Pregnancy status.
• Surgery within the last 12 weeks or unhealed wounds/scars.
• Use of medications or substances that increase sensitivity to UV or light, including acne/retinoid drugs, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, diuretics, antifungals,
antidepressants, antipsychotics, St John’s Wort, and fragrances.
• Excessive moles/freckles or any new/changed moles.
• Personal or immediate family history of skin cancer.
• Any eye disease or vision problems affected by light exposure.
If any answer is “Yes” or I am unsure, I understand I must obtain medical advice before using
either service, and the salon may require written clearance.

3) Exclusions & Refusals
• Skin Type I (always burns, never tans) will not be permitted for UV tanning.
• Services will not be provided if there are visible risks, such as active infections, cold sores/herpes, intoxication, or suspected under-18 use.

4) Safe-Use Rules – UV Sunbeds
• I will always wear protective goggles provided.
• I will remove make-up, perfumes, deodorants, and jewellery before sessions.
• I will cover new tattoos, piercings, or microblading until healed.
• I will follow staff guidance on maximum minutes per skin type and leave at least 24 hours (preferably 48 hours if new to UV) between sessions.
• I will not sunbathe outdoors on the same day as using a sunbed.
• I will immediately stop and notify staff if I experience burning, stinging, rash, dizziness, nausea, or discomfort.

5) Safe-Use Rules – Red Light Therapy
• I understand red light therapy uses non-UV wavelengths that do not tan the skin.
• I will always wear the protective eyewear provided.
• I will follow staff advice on session length and frequency.
• I will not use the service if I have active skin infections, open wounds, or a photosensitive condition.
• I understand results vary and no medical or cosmetic outcome is guaranteed.

6) Client Responsibility
• I accept full responsibility for the accuracy of my disclosures and my decision to undergo treatment.
• I understand The Glo Co does not provide medical advice and I have been advised to consult my GP if unsure.
• I will inform staff of any changes in health or medications before future sessions.

7) Liability
• I understand UV tanning carries inherent risks including burning, premature ageing, and potential increased risk of skin cancer.
• I understand red light therapy may cause temporary mild skin reactions or sensitivity.
• The Glo Co is not liable for injury, illness, or reaction caused by undeclared conditions, undisclosed medications, ignoring guidance, or misuse of equipment.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or injury caused by The Glo Co’s negligence or affects my statutory rights.

8) Data & Records (GDPR)
• My questionnaire, session records, and exposure settings will be stored securely for insurance and safety purposes for up to 6 years after my last visit.
• Data is processed lawfully for health & safety; I may request access, correction, or deletion in line with UK GDPR (subject to retention requirements).

9) General
• Sessions/packages are non-transferable.
• CCTV may operate in public areas for safety; no cameras are in treatment rooms.
• The salon reserves the right to refuse service if these terms are not followed.

Beauty Treatments:
By booking or using services at The Glo Co you acknowledge and agree to the following:
• I have had the treatment explained to me, including potential risks (e.g., irritation, redness, allergic reaction).
• I agree that I have informed the therapist of any medical conditions, skin conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or other factors that may affect my treatment.
• I have followed the patch test requirements.
• I understand aftercare advice has been explained to me and I agree to follow it.
• I understand results may vary depending on my skin and hair type.
• I consent to photographs being taken for treatment records.
• I give consent to receive the selected treatment from the beauty therapist. Client Acknowledgement
